John Oliveira is one of the most successful real estate agents in the Westchester area housing market.
John has always been heavily involved in all aspects of real estate, starting seventeen years ago when he bought his first house in 2005 - a multifamily home that he purchased as an investment property. Nothing unusual about that, except that John was only 19 years old! A freshman in college at the time, he balanced a full-time academic schedule with the drive and motivation of being a realtor new to the business. And it was quite a beginning.
By pairing his education in Business Administration from Pace University in Westchester with his entrepreneurial drive, John implemented a business plan that allowed him to acquire additional properties and quickly rise to becoming a top producer within his brokerage, successfully closing dozens of transactions per year.
Oliveira didn’t just jump into real estate though: his family owned multifamily investment properties in Westchester County, where they lived. Due to that, John learned at a young age how to interact with tenants and deal with home maintenance issues. John used that experience as a basis to listen, understand and manage his client's needs which enabled him to continuously achieve his client's goals and meet their expectations.
After graduating with his bachelor’s degree, Oliveira then attained his real estate broker’s license. He began to look at real estate more regionally instead of focusing on one or two townships, and that was when he saw his business increase dramatically, even though the housing market was in a downturn at the time. And it did!
In 2008, the first year John worked full-time, he was named as his office’s top producer; he received the same award in 2012 and 2013 and ranked among the office’s top three producers in between. In 2016, he launched a five agent team which provided end to end real estate services in all points north of NYC, not only catering to local clients but specifically those relocating from New York City.
In 2018, impressed with John and his team’s sales achievements, Douglas Elliman offered him the position of Executive Manager of Sales. John’s leadership and negotiation skills enabled him to oversee 85+ agents who commanded several record-breaking sales in Westchester, on the Sound Shore of Rye and Equestrian country of Bedford. After a 2-year contract, John realized his true passion was client facing and he returned to real estate sales in 2020, rounding out his experience in all areas of Real Estate. He is in the unique position to offer clients a diverse range of expertise from representing buyers and sellers, investments and land purchases, development and financing and is truly a one-stop shop for his clients. Together with his dedication and experience, combined with his personable and professional character, John has built and maintained solid relationships that have grown year after year primarily from repeat clients and referrals.
In 2021, John and his team were awarded #2 in transactions and gross commission income ranking amongst the top 5% of Douglas Elliman agents nationwide. He is also a member of Realm, which is an elite group of real estate agents ranking among the top half of 1% globally.
